Things to Know Before Your Cat’s Stay

1. BOOKING & CHECK-IN

We are an appointment-only facility. Please make sure your booking is confirmed before arrival.

Please arrive on time for your scheduled check-in appointment.

2. BOARDING REQUIREMENTS
  • F3 vaccination within the last 12 months. Proof of vaccination is required.
  • Up to date with flea & worm prevention (at least 48 hours before check-in).
  • Microchip must be registered and details up to date.
  • Cats must arrive in a secure and well-ventilated carrier.
3. FOOD, BELONGINGS & MEDICATION
  • We provide Royal Canin dry food. Please bring your cat’s usual food if they have special dietary needs.
  • You are welcome to bring a small blanket or favourite toy.
  • We can administer most oral and topical medications during your cat’s stay. All medications must be clearly labelled with your cat’s name and accompanied by detailed administration instructions and a recent veterinary health report. Additional medication fees may apply.

Some cats may become highly stressed or aggressive in an unfamiliar environment, making medication difficult or unsafe to administer. We will always do our best, but we cannot guarantee successful administration if your cat displays aggressive behaviour.

If your cat requires a complex or life-sustaining medication schedule, or is likely to become highly distressed or aggressive, we strongly recommend boarding them with your veterinarian, where they can receive appropriate medical supervision and care.

4. YOUR CAT MAY NEED TIME TO SETTLE IN

Cats are naturally sensitive to changes in their surroundings. New smells, sounds and unfamiliar people can feel overwhelming, so it is normal for some cats to hide, eat less or seem quieter during the first few days.

Every cat has a different personality and adjusts at their own pace. Confident cats may settle in within 2–3 days, while shy or sensitive cats may need a week or longer.

During the first two days, we minimise unnecessary disturbance and allow your cat to become familiar with the environment before getting to know our staff. Afterwards, we gently build trust by spending time with them in their room, offering treats, playing and giving gentle pats when welcomed.

We never force interaction, playtime or time outside the room when a cat is frightened. Cats must be fully settled and have regular eating and toileting habits before enjoying playtime outside their room. This usually begins after the first week, depending on their individual progress. Older, shy or quieter cats may prefer to remain in their comfortable room, and that is completely okay.

After returning home, your cat may also need 1–2 days to readjust. Providing a peaceful space and returning to their usual routine will help them settle comfortably again. Your cat’s comfort, safety and happiness always come first.
